After the experience, you will get to visit the Kigali genocide memorial museum which will give you an insight into the 1994 Rwanda genocide which claimed nearly a million Rwandans due to their political differences. While at the genocide memorial museum, you will visit the different exhibition areas where a number of people were killed and also give an insight into the unfortunate time in the country. After your time at the Kigali genocide memorial museum, you will then get to visit Hotel Des Mille Collines a memorable hotel with a history of the Rwanda genocide. Although the hotel is not a museum, its rich history has made travelers and locals treat it as one. The Hotel des Mille Collines was used as a refuge for over 1,200 people with the help of Paul Rusesabagina who was the manager then. However, when the mass murderers found out about the acts of the manager, they raided the hotel and killed a number of different Rwandans. After the museum visit, you will have lunch and then be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali city or get to visit the kimironko market where you will get to buy souvenirs and many other items.
