Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Kivu
At a location of your choice in Kigali city, you will be picked up by a representative of our tour company who will be your guide for the day. On meeting up with the guide, you will participate in the briefing session for the experience and then embark on your way to the Lake. You will drive southwards to have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda, and the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en route. After you will make your way to Nyamirundi Island on the lake, where you will visit ‘Ingoboka’ a coffee plantation where you will get to watch how the coffee is grown, you will also get the chance to watch how the coffee is processed from it being harvest, dried and then processed into some of the best coffee in the world. Interesting about your coffee tour you will also get to have a cup of coffee. Later on, you will connect with your guide to participate in the boat cruise which will offer exceptional views of the different bird species, marine life, and many other attractions. After the safari experience, you will transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Boat cruise and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early morning, have an amazing breakfast at your lodge, and later transfer to participate in the boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Exploring the lake will give you a breathtaking experience as you observe the neighboring hills, diverse bird species, and a number of rewarding attractions. This 1hour safari experience will give you the utmost experience as you enjoy the boat ride along the lake enjoying the cool breeze for a memorable safari experience. Day 3: Golden monkey trekking
After an early morning breakfast, you will get to participate in the golden monkey trekking which will lead you to a number of different attractions in the wild from the habituated golden monkey troops that you will get to observe how they go about their daily activities in the wild. The golden monkeys can be accessed when you hike the Virunga mountains in Rwanda which will lead you to the habituated gorilla families watching how they co-exist with one another, the environment, and many other rewarding features. After the safari experience, you will embark on your journey back to Kigali city where you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali.
Day 4: Dian Fossey museum visit and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the Dian Fossey Museum which will summarize your Diane Fossey experience. Interesting about your visit to the museum, you will get to put a face to the history of Diane Fossey and her works with pictorial representations of her works in Rwanda and also get to watch her old team, her gorilla friends which will make your safari experience quite memorable.
