Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Lake Kivu
At a location of your choice in Kigali city, you will be picked up by a representative of our tour company who will be your guide for the day. On meeting up with the guide, you will participate in the briefing session for the experience and then embark on your way to the Lake. You will drive southwards to have a stopover in Butare, where you will visit the National Museum of Rwanda and the king’s palace in Nyanza with lunch en route. After you will make your way to Nyamirundi Island on the lake, where you will visit ‘Ingoboka’ a coffee plantation where you will get to watch how the coffee is grown, you will also get the chance to watch how the coffee is processed from it being harvest, dried and then processed into some of the best coffee in the world. Interesting about your coffee tour you will also get to have a cup of coffee. Later on, you will connect with your guide to participate in the boat cruise which will offer exceptional views of the different bird species, marine life, and many other attractions. After the safari experience, you will transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Boat cruise and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early morning, have an amazing breakfast at your lodge, and later transfer to participate in the boat cruise on Lake Kivu. Exploring the lake will give you a breathtaking experience as you observe the neighboring hills, diverse bird species, and a number of rewarding attractions. This 1 hour safari experience will give you the utmost experience as you enjoy the boat ride along the lake enjoying the cool breeze for a memorable safari experience. After the safari experience, you will make your way to Volcanoes National Park reaching in time to participate in the ibyi’wacu cultural tour which will help you understand more about the culture of the people of Rwanda and their rewarding cultural values. Interesting about the cultural visit is the fact that you will have the opportunity to watch the cultural dances, watch how they prepare their food and if you’re interested you will get to taste it. After the safari experience, you will head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Rwanda
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up from your hotel. our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the gorilla trek. This brief is done at 7 am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This gorilla trek can take about 2 hours to half a day as it’s unpredictable. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to maintain a 7-meter distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the gorillas. During the time you spend with the gorillas, you will get the opportunity to understand a number of their rewarding features like how they co-exist with one another, you will get to watch the duty of the dominant silverback whose role is to mate with the adult females to increase the members of the family, raid other gorilla families for their members, you will watch the juveniles grooming one another for a rewarding safari experience. After the trek, you will head back to your hotel for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Dian Fossey museum visit and departure
After an early morning breakfast at your hotel, you will visit the Dian Fossey Museum which will summarize your Dian Fossey experience. Interesting about your visit to the museum, you will get to put a face to the history of Dian Fossey and her works with pictorial representation of her works in Rwanda and also get to watch her old team, her gorilla friends which will make your safari experience quite memorable. After the experience, you will be dropped off at a location of your choice in Kigali City or Kigali International Airport.
