DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.
Rise up early have breakfast as you get ready to embark on your journey to Volcanoes national park with lunch en-route, arriving Ruhengeri in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at dinner and overnight will be at Da Vinci gorilla Lodge(mid-range) Hotel Muhabura(budget)
DAY 2: GORILLA TREK IN VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.
As early at 6am, you will be expected to be up for breakfast and ready to set off for the trek. Our guide will meet you after having your breakfast and your lunches packed and he will take you to Kinigi Headquarters where you are expected to be given a brief before starting the gorilla trek. This brief is done at 7am. You are given guidelines during this brief before you are allowed to start the trek. This gorilla trek can take to about 2 hours to half a day as its unpredictable. When you finally find the gorillas, you will have to maintain a 7 meters’ distance and you are allowed one hour to admire and take photos of the gorillas. After the trek, you will have lunch and taken back to your hotel as the night before to relax and reminisce on the experience. You can also embark on the iby’iwacu cultural village tour which will give you an insight of the people of Rwanda by visiting the local community which will give you the chance to observe their unique cultural values through dance, food and many other features that you will get to observe when you participate in the activity. After the experience you will head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight will be at Da Vinci gorilla Lodge(mid-range) Hotel Muhabura(budget)
DAY 3: TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK AND IHEMA BOAT CRUISE.
You will be met by your driver guide at your agreed location in Kigali to transfer to Akagera national park where you will arrive in time to embark in an early morning game drives that will give you the chance to watch a number of game animals especially the herbivores like the elephants grazing within the plains, the rhinos, you will also get to see a number of remarkable views for the park and a number of rewarding attractions after your game drive you will transferred to the lodge for lunch and refreshments and later on participate in the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will see game like hippopotamuses, Crocodiles and many bird species like the endangered shoe bill stork, African King fishers catching their prey from the Lake that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. DAY 4: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AND NIGHT GAME DRIVE.
Rise up early and go for a game drive with great anticipation of seeing the different animals like the herbivores, the big five animals in Rwanda which rise early to graze and predators looking for their early morning kill. After the game drive, return to your hotel for relaxation and refreshments and later in the evening, you will get to participate in the night game drive which will give you the opportunity to watch a number of animal species and how they interact with one another when the sun sets watching a number of carnivores catching their prey in the wild. After the safari experience, head back to your hotek for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO KIGALI
to connect with your driver guide to embark on your transfer back to Kigali. If you didn’t have a city tour on the first day, you may have it on this day before you are dropped off in Kigali or at the airport as you may advise.
